Rec(ommendation) Room – Books For Vampires

Welcome to the Recommendation Room! Come in, come in, make yourself comfortable. This is a place where every kind of person can find five books to suit them, no matter who they are. This week, I’m going to recommend you some books for those vampires who are up all night and need something to keep them occupied until dawn:

1. Les Miserables – Victor Hugo

You’re lying in your bed (coffin), unable to sleep – what do you do? You pick up ‘Les Mis’ and give it a whirl. It’s a really thick book, but soon you’ll get caught up with the adventures of Jean Valjean, and little Cosette.

2. The entire ‘Throne of Glass’ series – Sarah J. Maas
So you’ve finished ‘Les Mis’ and now you’re bored again? Pick up the incredible ‘Throne of Glass’ series by Sarah J Maas. If you like Young Adult, or high fantasy…or even if you just like really good literature, then this is a must-read.

3. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo – Stieg Larsson
Read it once, and then go back and read it all over again. That’s really the only way you’ll properly understand anything that happens. Trust me, I’ve tried. This is a book that will put you to sleep, if you’re an insomniac or a vampire.

4. The Girl On The Train – Paula Hawkins

Talk about your gripping book! This one will keep you enthralled from start to end, and you’ll find yourself still awake at half two in the morning, your mind whirling over how truly psychotic the characters are.
5. Under The Dome -Stephen King

If you’re still awake after the previous four suggestions, then tackle this monster of a Stephen King book. With over 1000 pages in it, this is bound to either put you to sleep or keep you occupied all night long, depending on your mood/personality. I still have to even crack open this one, but it’s so intimidating….

Thank you for coming to my Rec Room – who will be let in next week? Wait and see.

Happy reading!
