Transformative Fiction? You mean fan fiction.

As much as I love reading original fiction, I also like reading works inspired by others – aka, fan fiction. There is the smutty, the Fifty Shades-level stuff, but there’s also fluffy goodness out there as well. I even admit to having written some myself…

Anyway, here’s some of the best ones I’ve read recently.

Leo Inter Serpentes: First Year (50261 words) by Aeternum
Chapters: 11/11
Fandom: Harry Potter – J. K. Rowling
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Hermione Granger, Severus Snape, Blaise Zabini, Theodore Nott, Pansy Parkinson, Daphne Greengrass, Tracey Davis, Millicent Bulstrode, Neville Longbottom, Rubeus Hagrid, Original Female Character(s), Original Male Character(s), Hedwig, Fang, Minerva McGonagall, Quirinus Quirrell
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe – Canon Divergence, Slytherin Harry, Good Slytherins, Mentor Snape
Series: Part 1 of Leo Inter Serpentes
Summary: A retelling of the original series, but this time, our hero wears green and silver, not red and gold.

This one is of my favourite series – it’s written if Harry was sorted into Slytherin instead, and it’s incredible. It takes the original books, and twists them. Sometimes I even prefer reading this one to the original.

Attention (1307 words) by shewearsglasses
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Throne of Glass Series – Sarah J. Maas
Rating: Mature
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Chaol/Celaena, Chaol/Dorian (Friendship), Dorian/Celaena (Past Relationship), Celaena/Nehemia (Friendship)
Characters: Chaol Westfall, Celaena Sardothien, Nehemia Ytger, Dorian Havilliard, Nox Owen (Mentioned)
Additional Tags: Texting, Alternate Universe – College/University, Jealousy, Teasing
Series: Part 2 of University of Glass
Summary: Celaena just doesn’t want to pay  attention in class. Chaol doesn’t approve.

It’s a modern university-version of Throne of Glass – what’s not to love? Celaena, and Chaol and Dorian at university, and dealing with normal problems; this is part of a series, so go have a look.

Beautiful Signs (1363 words) by The_flame_princess_416
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard – Rick Riordan
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Blitzen/Hearthstone, Blitz/Hearth
Characters: Blitzen, blitz – Character, Hearthstone, Hearth – Character, Magnus Chase
Additional Tags: Engagement, Marriage Proposal, Deaf Character, Deaf, Worry, Dwarf/Elf Relationship(s), both of them propose, I Love You, My First Work in This Fandom, Fluff, Tooth-Rotting Fluff, like really cute stuff, Cute, Sign Language, American Sign Language
Series: Part 1 of Beautiful Things
Summary: Hearth is trying to figure out a way to propose to Blitz, the love of his life. He asks Magnus for help and then that night he Proposes to Blitz, little did he know that Blitz had a proposal up his sleeve as well

I am complete and utter trash for this pairing – I really hope Rick Riordan will make them proper canon in the next Magnus Chase book, because a deaf elf and a fashion designing dwarf need to be together. At least, these two do.

I honestly have others, but they’re very very smutty, so I won’t put them down here. That would be very NSFW.
