Review: Wow. That’s all I can say about this. However, that doesn’t make a review, so I’ll try and find words for how awesome this graphic novel is.
Scott Pilgrim is in a band, and he’s dating a high-school girl who is called Knives Chau. His roommate Wallace is a gossipy bitch, and Scott has issues. However, when a badass girl rollerblades into his life, Scott suddenly has to deal with her seven evil exes. *Epic fight scenes!*
I got this book from the library at the start of this week, and I finished it relatively quickly because I was so absorbed in it (also, because it’s not that long). I ended up laughing through the whole thing – it was that funny.
The artwork? Incredible. It wasn’t overdone, and it didn’t hurt my head to read like a lot of coloured graphic novels/comic books. I especially liked the panels depicting the fight scene between Scott Pilgrim and the first of the evil exes.
Seriously, you have to read this book. It’s amazing, and you’ll love it. If you’re not a book person, then watch the movie. It’s got Anna Kendrick and Mae Whitman in it.
