Fancast Wednesday – City of Ashes

Last week I did a fancast for City Of Bones, the first book in the Mortal Instruments series. This time, I’m going to be doing the same for characters in the second book in the series, City of Ashes. New characters are introduced in this book, and I have tried to do them justice with the casting.

1) Gina Rodriguez as Maia Roberts.

A badass female werewolf, Maia has a tough past, one which isn’t the sort  of thing she shares freely. She’s a ‘curvy biracial teenager with light brown skin, dark brown eyes, and curly, brown-gold hair. She has a tattoo of a butterfly on her back and a big scar on her neck from where she was bitten.’

2) Collins Pennie as Bat Velasquez

image

Bat is first seen in City of Bones, but not directly. In City of Ashes, we see he is Maia’s hot-headed best friend and fellow werewolf. Collins Pennie would be the perfect choice for him, because to me he just has that face that seems perfect.

3) Charlize Theron as Imogen Herondale aka The Inquisitor

image

Imogen Herondale is a very uptight and intimidating character, so whoever plays her just has to bring that intimidation and sternness to the role. Therefore, I choose Charlize Theron. She has the haughty air to her that I just connect to Imogen.

4) Shiloh Fernandez as Raphael Santiago

image

This vampire needs to be portrayed by a hot Latin male, and so I choose the ever sexy, tall-dark-and-handsome Shiloh Fernandez for this role. He’s around the right age, he’s got the right looks, and imagine him with fangs? Too hot? Hot damn!

5) Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause as Maryse and Robert Lightwood.

image

These two portrayed Piper Halliwell and Leo Wyatt, one of the most loved tv couples of my childhood from the show Charmed, and I just see them playing the Lightwood parents so well, showing the same tough and the parental sides to them that I first saw in Charmed.

Next week – City Of Glass!
